Teresa Castano has been a lover of Latin music and dancing all her life. Originally from Colombia, Teresa grew up dancing to Salsa and Merengue, as well as other Colombian rhythms. Since she moved to the United States 20 years ago, she expanded her expertise to include all the ballroom dances, as well as Argentine Tango, Swing, and Zydeco among others.

Teresa has been teaching and promoting Latin dancing for the past 10years, in Western Massachusetts. She held weekly dance lessons and dance parties at her 'Noches Latinas' in Beaver Brook Golf Course in Williamsburg, Mass. Her dances attract enthusiasts from all over New England and a diverse group of people from a variety of countries. As a regular guest at JACOBS PILLOW in the Berkshires, Teresa taught Latin dancing to a crowd of enthusiasts at the Museum of Contemporary Arts (MassMOCA) in North Adams, MA. during their Summer concerts.

It is because of her ability to bring people together that Teresa was recognized as a Latino Community Champion 2002 by the Latino scholarship Association of Western MAss.
